Large doses of different types of radiation speeds up the aging process in many animal species and humans.

However, at low doses of radiation can slow the aging animals by 10-20%, and this effect is manifested in better body irradiation than the head.

Prolongation of life in these experiments, some authors explain the suppression of tumor development and infections, decrease in body temperature, metabolism and reproductive function.
